Acclaimed as a musician of clarity and lyricism, Pianist and Music Director Nengbin Shih has conducted performances in celebrated venues and music festivals through the United States, France, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan. As a church music director and organist, Mr. Shih has served in the Grace Lutheran Church in Jamaica, New York and the First Presbyterian Church in East Hanover, New Jersey. As a vocal/opera coach, Mr. Shih has collaborated with renowned vocalists such as Jacque Trussel, Dr. Sherry Overholt, and Thomas Goodheart. Currently Mr. Shih is the music director of Bogart Music School, Bogart Memorial Church, Tenafly Singers Choir, and New York Chinese Christian Choral Society as well.
Mr. Shih has been named as a laureate of the Taiwan Music Competition. He received a master’s degree in piano performance from Music Conservatory of State University of New York at Purchase where he studied with Paul Ostrovsky, a pupil of Yakov Flier and Emil Gilels. Mr. Shih has been coached by celebrated pianists such as Leon Fleisher and Krystian Zimerman.
